OADG participated in the Macfrut Trade Fair, one of the world’s leading platforms for the horticulture industry, as part of a broader strategy to deepen technical understanding, expand market access, and strengthen our position within global agribusiness value chains.

The fair created space to explore innovations in post-harvest handling, cold chain logistics, export compliance, and irrigation technologies. Key engagements focused on strengthening export readiness and value addition for smallholder farmers.

Omia Agribusiness Empowers Small Farmer Groups with Solar Irrigation Systems

In partnership with DanChurchAid (DCA), OADG successfully installed five state-of-the-art solar irrigation systems for smallholder farmer groups in Limu, Ambia Odobu, Nyaranga, and Bavule.

Harnessing harvested rainwater from community dams, the systems provide a reliable, climate-smart solution enabling year-round cultivation — strengthening off-season production and improving livelihoods in areas where water scarcity has historically limited agricultural productivity.

Omia Agribusiness Secures Strategic Impact Investments to Strengthen Inclusive Food Systems in Uganda

Smallholder farmer benefiting from OADG Acumen impact investment programme

OADG has received strategic investment from Acumen — marking Acumen’s third investment in East Africa under its Forcibly Displaced People Lens Investing Programme — reflecting growing confidence in Omia’s model for delivering inclusive, market-based agricultural solutions in fragile and displacement-affected contexts.

The Bayer Foundation and the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) have also launched first investments under the Food Systems Innovation Finance Facility, directly reaching tens of thousands of smallholder farmers, including women and refugee communities.
