Early this week, we were honored to host a delegation from the World Food Programme (WFP) and the Danish Embassy in Kampala. The visit highlighted the critical role of private sector partnerships in tackling hunger, poverty, and economic empowerment for refugees, women, and youths.
Omia Agribusiness team shared their successful last-mile engagement strategies of supporting beneficiaries of Solarizing Livelihood Activities with Refugees (SOLAR) Project together with Tulima Solar with support from World Food Programme.
A field visit to Yambura and Kimu home learning Center farmers group in Lobule Sub County, Koboko District, demonstrated the transformative power of solar-powered irrigation in off-season production. The demonstration gardens set up as learning sites, have empowered the farmers with knowledge and skills to enhance self-reliance.

As the the saying goes, “Don’t just give a man a fish; teach him how to fish.” This Embodies World Food Program’s approach, moving beyond aid to sustainable impact, equipping vulnerable communities with the right tools and knowledge to thrive.
We extend our gratitude to our esteemed guests and partners for supporting practical, lasting solutions that uplift lives. Together, we can drive impactful initiatives that transform agriculture, enhance livelihoods, and build resilient communities.
