Climate Change continues to threaten the livelihoods of smallholder farmers and other actors in the Agribusiness Value chain in Uganda evidenced by low crop and livestock productivity resulting from prolonged dry periods, excessive rainfall and floods, high temperatures and increased outbreak of pests and diseases in the Country.
In West Nile, this is exacerbated by an increased population as a result of the refugee influx from the neighboring South Sudan and the DRC, the increased population has also resulted into the need for more farming land and fuel for cooking that has driven the rate of deforestation and biomass loss intensifying the climate change problem and its impact on the people.
