What will you be hired to do?
Website Management: Maintain and update the Omia Agribusiness and Omia Foundation website with relevant content, news, and events. Ensure the website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for search engines. Monitor website traffic and analyze user engagement metrics.
Social Media Engagement: Develop and execute social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement. Create engaging content for various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn. Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers.
Graphic Design: Design visually appealing graphics for online and offline marketing materials, including posters, flyers, brochures, and banners. Ensure consistency in branding across all communication channels. Collaborate with team members to develop creative concepts for marketing campaigns.
Event Coordination: Plan and coordinate events, including workshops, conferences, and farmer engagement activities. Manage event logistics, such as venue selection, catering, and audiovisual requirements. Promote events through various channels to attract participants.
Farmer Story Documentation: Collect and document stories from farmers and stakeholders to highlight the impact of the organization’s programs. Conduct interviews, gather testimonials, and capture photos and videos to accompany stories. Develop compelling narratives that resonate with the target audience.
Photo and Video Production: Capture high-quality photos and videos to showcase the organization’s activities, projects, and success stories. Edit and enhance photos and videos to create engaging content for digital and print media. Ensure compliance with copyright and licensing regulations.
Visibility Materials: Develop marketing materials, such as newsletters, annual reports, and promotional videos, to enhance the organization’s visibility. Coordinate the production of promotional merchandise, including branded merchandise and giveaway items. Distribute visibility materials to target audiences through various channels.
Public Relations: Develop and maintain relationships with media outlets, journalists, and influencers to secure media coverage for the organization’s initiatives and events. Draft press releases, media advisories, and pitch materials to announce newsworthy developments and achievements. Monitor media coverage and prepare media reports for internal stakeholders.
Analytics and Reporting: Utilize analytics tools to track and measure the performance of communication and marketing efforts. Generate regular reports on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as website traffic, radio listenership, social media engagement, email open rates, and lead conversion rates. Use data-driven insights to inform decision-making and optimize strategies for better results.
Training and Capacity Building: Provide training and support to staff and volunteers on communication and marketing best practices. Share resources, tools, and guidelines to empower team members to contribute to communication initiatives effectively. Foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the organization.
Budget Management: Develop and manage budgets for communication and marketing activities. Monitor expenses, track spending against budget allocations, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Crisis Communication: Develop and implement crisis communication plans to address potential issues or emergencies. Act as a spokesperson for the organization during crisis situations, providing timely and accurate information to stakeholders and the public. Coordinate with internal teams to manage communication responses and mitigate reputational risks.
Innovation and Trends Monitoring: Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in communication and marketing. Identify opportunities for innovation and experimentation to enhance the organization’s communication strategies. Experiment with new tools and techniques to reach and engage target audiences more effectively.

Education
Minimum Diploma in Agriculture, Communication, Journalism, Marketing and Public relations.
Very strong Experience or Visible Evidence of Graphics work and online presence/engagement. Physical
Requirements:
Prolonged periods of computer work and occasionally field visits. Ability to ride a motorcycle is an advantage as the position will occasionally involve field visits.
